About Rhoads To Wellness
Our Philosophy: Empathy, Empowerment, and Evidence-Based Care
At Rhoads To Wellness, LLC, we believe that healing is a journey—and everyone's path looks different. Our practice is built on a foundation of empathy, empowerment, and evidence-based care. We create a safe, collaborative space where clients can actively build strengths, develop practical tools, and work toward their best selves.
Therapy is most effective when it's a partnership. We believe in a collaborative approach that requires engagement and commitment from both therapist and client. When you come prepared to do the work, real transformation becomes possible.
An Eclectic Approach Tailored to You
We don't believe in one-size-fits-all therapy. Instead, we use an eclectic, integrative approach to find the interventions and techniques that work best for your unique situation and goals. Whether you're healing from trauma, navigating relationship challenges, or seeking support as a parent, we meet you where you are and guide you toward where you want to be.
Meet Your Therapist
Amanda Johnson, M.S., LPC, EMDR Trained
I'm a Cambria County native, deeply rooted in this community and committed to supporting the mental health and wellness of individuals and families here.
My journey in mental health began with a Bachelor of Science degree, followed by years working in wraparound services in school, home, and community settings with children and families while I pursued my Master's Degree. These early experiences shaped my understanding of the complexities families face and the importance of meeting people where they are.
After earning my Master's Degree, I transitioned to working with a nonprofit focused on domestic violence services for men, women, and children. Over the years, I served as a counselor, program director, and eventually executive director. During this time, I received specialized training in Dr. Popkin's Active Parenting program, which enhanced my ability to provide education and support to families.
Following licensure, I opened my private practice during the pandemic, driven by a desire to provide accessible, compassionate care during an unprecedented time of need. I am also an EMDR-trained therapist, equipped to help clients heal from trauma using this evidence-based approach.
Throughout my career, I've been involved in numerous volunteer efforts and community projects, always striving to give back and strengthen the resources available to those in need.
Outside of my professional work, I'm a parent myself, navigating my own journey of raising my daughter. This personal experience deepens my empathy and understanding for the parents I work with—I know firsthand how challenging and rewarding parenting can be.
